Bayer, Karbon Bilgilendirme Projesi tarafından yayınlanan önemli iki küresel iklim endeksinde (Karbon Bilgilendirme Liderlik Endeksi ve Karbon Performans Liderlik Endeksi) yer alan tek kimya ve ilaç şirketi oldu.

Yatırımcılar tarafından halka arz olmuş küresel 500 şirketin sürdürülebilir iklim stratejileri doğrultusunda değerlendirildiği her iki endekste de en iyi uluslararası sıralamayı Bayer elde etti.

Bayer, CO ₂ emisyonlarını azaltmak için gerçekleştirdiği çabalardan ötürü Karbon Performans Liderlik Endeksinde yeralan 29 şirketten biri oldu. İklim raporlamasında en iyi seffaflığı sergileyen ilk 52 şirketin listelendiği Karbon Bilgilendirme Liderlik Endeksi’nde ise en iyi uluslararası sıralamayı elde etti. Her iki endekste de yeralabilen sadece 23 şirket bulunuyor.

Bayer, iklim programı sayesinde sera gazı emisyonlarını 2020’ye kadar 2005 rakamlarına oranla yüzde 35 azaltarak üretim süreçlerinde enerji verimliliğini geliştirmeyi hedefliyor.

Bayer is the only chemical and pharmaceutical company that has been included in two global climate indices (The Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index and the Carbon Performance Leadership Index) published by the Carbon Disclosure Project. The Company has achieved the top international ranking in both indices, in which the 500 biggest publicly traded companies (FTSE Global 500 Index) are evaluated. These indices are used as a guide by investors wishing to invest in companies with a sustainable climate strategy.

Bayer is one of 29 companies included in the Carbon Performance Leadership Index as a result of recognition of its endeavors to reduce CO ₂ emissions. The company has also achieved the top international ranking in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index, which lists the top 52 companies that display the greatest transparency in climate reporting. Only 23 companies are included in both indices.

Through its climate program, Bayer is aiming for a further improvement in the energy efficiency of its production processes in order to reduce specific greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent until 2020 compared with 2005 Figures.
