Bayer Continued its Robust Growth in Turkey with Sales of € 469.8 million in 2008
Adjusted for currency and portfolio effects, Bayer Group sales in Turkey increased by 4.8 percent to € 469.8 million while the number of employees increased by 8 percent to 1,604 in 2008. “We look back with satisfaction to a successful year 2008 while the increase in employees in Turkey shows our commitment to capitalize on the opportunities for long-term growth in this market” Bayer Türk CEO Dr. Sebastian Guth said when explaining the 2008 results on Tuesday

Bayer CropScience in Turkey has opened its first of two Cotton AgroArenas, on Thursday, September 25th, in Bismil, close to Diyarbakir. The AgroArena is a new communication concept to demonstrate farmers in Turkey ways to improve their crop production in yield and quality by using modern growing techniques and state-of-the-art crop protection products.

Project competition featuring “Who Has The Campaign To Save The World?” held under Bayer Young Environmental Envoy Program is finalized. Hürmiye Atasoy from Istanbul University with her project titled “All the Problems Will be Dissolved”, and Cem Çeri from Mimar Sinan University with his project titled “What Can I Do Alone Against Global Warming?”, are qualified as the first two in the Competition to represent Turkey at Young Environmental Envoys meeting to be held in Germany between 2-7 November 2008.
